Esther M. Holimon, a native New Yorker, was ordained an Elder in The Baltimore Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church in 1985 and has served in several appointments throughout her pastoral career.

Rev. Holimon entered the pastoral field at a time when women were not accepted in leadership roles in many Christian denominations. Consequently, as a trail blazer, she entered many positions as the first woman and the first black.

Prior to entering seminary, Rev. Holimon’s academic training was in the field of Speech Pathology and Audiology; graduated from the prestigious HBCU, Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. After teaching in the New York City Public School system as a Speech Therapist, she eventually moved to the D. C. area, matriculated at Howard University and received her Masters of Divinity in 1984.

Rev. Holimon was married to Elliott C. Moffitt (deceased) and is blessed to acknowledge her three sons: Evan (Son), KJ (Grandson), and Dustin (Godson). She enjoys gardening and pastoring her current church, West Montgomery UMC in Dickerson, Maryland.
